Fishermans cottages clinging to the hillside
Follow the coastline southwards from Whitby and you will come across this quaint little fishing village steeped in history. A steep lane winds down into the village, stop and browse in the shops or explore the little passage ways between the old fishermans cottages. There are a handful of places to eat from the local pubs to take away fish and chips. The beach is the ultimate place to do rock pooling when the tide is low and there is a lovely walk along the beach to Boggle Hole and back along the old railway line.
